Acupuncture Grand Junction

Modern Acupuncture Grand Junction provides acupuncture for a variety of ailments, injuries, and dis-ease of all kinds. Many people (for thousands of years) have found the ancient practice of acupuncture to be highly therapeutic. Only in more recent years has the majority of people begun to see the benefits of acupuncture, and has its validity been acclaimed as a potent healing modality.

Holistic Health

Acupuncture can be a terrific supplemental therapy to existing health care advice and medicine, or in some cases, can enable the body to begin to heal underlying health problems on its own. At Modern Acupuncture Grand Junction, we pride ourselves on being conscientious of our patients’ holistic situation regarding their health. We never prescribe medication because, though medication certainly has its place, it never heals a person. Have you ever noticed that once someone gets on a drug, they almost never get off? We regularly see people on 5-10 daily prescription drugs (some of which the person only takes to offset symptoms caused by other drugs...). Our approach is instead to help people, with their MD, begin to get off their daily drugs. We can do this because acupuncture actually allows the body to heal the underlying problems, beneath the symptoms.

What causes symptoms that people take drugs for, anyway? Have you ever wondered what happened in your body that you had to start taking a medication? What if you could solve that underlying problem – the thing that’s actually causing the symptom?

We don’t treat symptoms. We treat underlying health issues that cause symptoms. Then, your body’s healing process treats the symptoms.

How Acupuncture Works

Most of our clients come to see us for acupuncture. It’s becoming a very popular, well-known, and scientifically recognized form of healing.

Acupuncture works by placing needles along “meridians.” Meridians are, in Chinese Medicine, energy pathways for the body. Another way to say this is that meridians are key points along the nervous system of the body, that when stimulated, allow better communication and healing in the nervous system. The body has twelve unique energy meridians, that connect to all of the body’s organs, and constitute the entirety of the body’s nervous pathways.
Meridians, these energy pathways, are stimulated with a combination of acupuncture, and NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techniques). When you visit our office and tell us your symptoms and what’s going on with your body, Dr. Adam Trager will proceed to muscle testing using NAET vials. When our bodies are either allergic, sensitive, or weak in certain environments, we tend to have weaker muscle response. We can then increase your nervous system’s responsiveness in the currently unhealthy environment that’s been created in your body, which will “lock” in with acupuncture treatment.

Once your body has received a “locked-in” response to the unhealthy environment it’s in, it can begin to heal on its own. In Chinese Medicine, it takes 24 hours for the treatment to reach all twelve meridians of the body – all nerve pathways and organs. During that time we advise our patients to avoid any further exposure to the unhealthy environment that got them their negative symptoms in the first place. Afterwards, the body will continue to improve on its own.

Our Body's Environment

When we talk about “environment,” it’s important to note that we’re talking about anything that affects your physical, mental, or emotional experience. “Environment” could mean nutrition, water intake (or lack thereof), air quality, stress, internal toxins/ bacteria/ infections, and so on. Sometimes the body simply needs support in the unhealthy environments we find ourselves in (with the millions of toxins abundantly available in our world today) to find a sense of harmony again and heal.

The fact is – why people continue to seek out alternative forms of healing to strict Western medicine – only the body possesses the ability to heal itself. Drugs cannot heal anyone. No one ever treated the underlying cause of symptoms in the body by taking a drug (which is itself an immunosuppressant and toxin – that’s why all drugs have “side effects”). So, it’s also important to note that acupuncture doesn’t really “heal” you. You heal you. Acupuncture simply improves the body’s response under stressed or toxic environments, giving it the stimulation it needs to begin self-healing.

Ancient Healing

Acupuncture is a form of ancient healing. People have been benefiting from acupuncture treatment from as early as 6,000 BCE.

What To Expect When You Visit

First, it’s important that you call our office to set an appointment. It’s often very difficult or impossible for us to accept walk-in traffic as our schedule for a day is often booked in advance. So, if you want to set an appointment, please call our office today at 970-111-1111.

The first visit you have with Dr. Adam will be much longer. We take time with you to learn exactly what you have going on with your health, your health history, and what you’re looking to achieve with your health and wellness goals.

Muscle Testing and Healing

Some people are surprised at the muscle testing process. Muscle testing can be achieved by using NAET vials, held up to your body, then measuring your arm’s strength relative to when the vial is not present. If your arm holds strong, normally, but can be pushed down when the vial is near your body, it means that we’ve discovered a weakened environment for your body to work with. One example of a vial is “neurotransmitters.” If the neurotransmitters vial is placed near your body, and your arm goes weak, it means that your neurotransmitters are not functioning optimally.

We then have you hold the vial your body needs while we stimulate the nerves surrounding your spinal cord. Afterwards, acupuncture can begin. You’ll lay on our table, with optional warming lamps set over you to keep you comfortable. We keep the vial your body needs near you, then apply needles, and let you rest for 20-30 minutes. Afterwards, your body may need 24 hours of rest from certain environments, foods, etc. which Dr. Adam will walk you through. Then, your body will continue the healing process on its own!
